The return of Alex Song , and Noble's captaincy
What do people think about this , you would think that if we play the two holding midfielders , that if all three are playing to their ptential , Kouyate and Song would be two.

Watching billic MOTD interview yesterday , he hailed Winston leadership from the back , and i think he would be a better choice for captaincy , as when fit he starts , mark has his hands full keeping hold of his shirt this season, and ideally you want your captain to start every match.

That said Nobes was great yesterday, and having a canning town lad as captain is awesome.

will he still have the armband next season ,what do we think ?

I don't think Noble's a world beater but his upped him game recently and he always puts in a shift.

Bilic will get the best out of him. I think there an arguement to replace him with Song for some games or as a sub and hand the band to Winston.

The most promising part to that is Payet, prepared to graft as well as provide the class.

we have 3 in the top 20 of players that have ran the furthest so far this season.

Love that we are such a hard working team.

Mark Noble (70.4km),
Dimitri Payet (65.2km)
Aaron Cresswell (64.6km).

Seems they are following their captains example

Song needs to prove himself. You cant live on what you have done its what you can do now - leave the ego behind. Song was shite towards the end of last season so will have to earn it.

Keane, Busquetts & Pirlo all mentioned in the same breath as Mark "I wanna take everything....but can't now" Noble........and people wonder why our fans get called deluded?

I know ridiculous......next you'll get some idiot comparing Diame to Yaya Toure.....!!!!

He was up against possibly the fastest attack in the world today. I'd give the lad a break.

He looks less exposed with the players around him now, but looked woefully slow at times on Saturday.

Of course he's playing better in a better squad with a better manager.

But you have to be a good player to play better alongside better players. After all, you don't see many off here getting any games, do you.

Re: The return of Alex Song , and Noble's captaincy
I think we could get even better with a pacier midfielder than Noble and the captaincy should go to Reid, but how the team are playing, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
Noble is playing better as there are better players around him. Like for example most of the England players play better for their clubs as they are alongside the better players.

Yes. But according to that bitter old queen Rodfarts Noble was out of order and shouldn't have done it. For what reason I don't know. Probably because that fact that Noble is now a major player and captain he literally has fuck all else to say on here these days.

Bascially his WHO existence has been smudged out.

If Reid is fit he will start. You're kidding yourself if you think otherwise. Tomkins has turned into an excellent player though, Ogbonna looks quick and strong, even Collins looks good. Plus all our decent kids on that position. It's mental how much depth we have there now. Never seen it before.

Re: The return of Alex Song , and Noble's captaincy
If you watch the highlights, Jenkinson listens Noble and goes back straight back to the ref, while Sakho is telling him the same thing it seems. No offense taken.

Those who still want to be offended by this are generally those who look for the worst in Noble for some reason.

Nothing to see here other than a decent captain moment.

Re: The return of Alex Song , and Noble's captaincy
On the Noble/Jenkinson thing, as far as I could tell, Bilic had already made the decision to sub Jenkinson with Collins, and it was only then that Noble went over and hauled him up, because otherwise the ref was going to get the medics/stretcher on, Jenkinson would have had to go off but the substitution would not have been allowed until after the next time the ball went out. Noble was being a REAL Captain by knowing what was going on and making sure that the possibility of going down to ten men never happened, especially as we were about to face a set piece.

I have been a big critic of Noble but I thought he was outstanding on Saturday, nothing like upping your game when there is serious competition for your place eh!
Song imo is top top draw and get him firing who knows what can happen this season, got width and good balance and I really can see us going close 😳

Agreed, busquets has another job, being one of the top 5 biggest cunts in football. In a constant battle with Dani Alves to be the biggest one at Barcelona as well.

"Busquets just does his job" deary me, probably the most complete holding midfielder on the planet, an absolute joy to watch and the orchestrator of Barcelona "just does his job".

I'm honestly baffled
